Printable chore chart

Most printable chore charts are blank grids you fill in by hand. FairChores fills it in for you: enter names and chores, get a fair rotation, then click Print chart for a clean table with names, chores and dates.

The printout hides menus and buttons, uses large text and works in portrait or landscape. Save it as a PDF from the print dialog if you want to share it digitally.

      How the fair rotation works

Each chore has an effort score from 1 (a quick, easy job) to 5 (the job everyone avoids). Every week, FairChores assigns the heaviest chores first. Each goes to the person carrying the least effort so far that week; if two people are level, it goes to whoever has the lower running total across all weeks, and then to whoever did that particular chore longest ago. The result is a plan where weekly loads are close and the worst jobs travel around the household.

Below the chart you can see each person’s total effort and the difference between the busiest and least busy person. A difference of zero or one point means the plan is about as fair as the chore list allows. Press Shuffle for an alternative that is equally balanced.

Tips for a chore chart that sticks

Agree on effort scores together before you print, so the plan feels fair to everyone. Keep chore names specific, like “wipe kitchen counters” rather than “kitchen”. Put the chart somewhere visible and review it once a month; add or remove chores and the rotation rebalances automatically.

      Private by design
